Spiritual Perspectives
The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 7:21: “…but if thou mayest be made free, use it rather.” The InterClued KJV Bible Commentary says: “But if thou [you] mayest [are able to] be made free [obtain freedom], use [take advantage of] it [the opportunity to obtain freedom] rather [rather than to remain without freedom].” The KJV III Bible Commentary says: “However, if you are able to obtain freedom, take advantage of the opportunity to do so. It is important that you do.”
God tells us in this verse that we should pursue freedom. What is freedom? Freedom is absence of the, actual and potential, evil control of others. Notice that we said “evil control.” If a fireman is carrying you out of a burning building, you are more than pleased that he is physically controlling you. This kind of control is good. HOWEVER, note that freedom means that, under God’s guidance, YOU are the judge of what is good and what is evil!
Now, how does one obtain freedom? One may obtain a degree of freedom, what we call “basic freedom,” by being born in or moving to a free country. That is why so many people immigrate to the United States.
Can a person obtain freedom beyond “basic freedom”? Yes. How? By eliminating the actual and potential, evil control of others. In a free country, most people are free from the actual, evil control of others. At the same time, however, most people in a free country and everywhere else are not free from the potential, evil control of others. This web page will help you to free yourself from this type of evil control.
How can we free ourselves from the potential, evil control of others? BY ELIMINATING ANY CONTROL THAT THEY HAVE OVER US!!!
How do we eliminate any control that others have over us? BY ELIMINATING RELIANCE UPON THEM FOR ANYTHING. We call absence of reliance on anyone for anything:
Independence
One area where we rely on others is our ability to make money. We rely on employers to keep us employed. If we run our own business, we rely on customers to keep us in business. Some might say that absolute independence is impossible. THAT IS NOT TRUE!!! Over time, we will show you how to achieve absolute independence. Right now, however, we are going to show you how to both achieve and maintain financial independence.
